Living Dead Weekend: Monroeville 2020 Announcement

SpookyDazAnnouncements

There is a lot of info here, so please read through the whole thing very carefully.  We know many people want to have the event postponed so they can reset and make plans when the restrictions and safety concerns are better for travel.  We also know many of people want an event to still take place in November, and want to return to the Monroeville Mall again without skipping a year.  Thus we are giving you both!

Living Dead Weekend-1985 (with both RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD and DAY OF THE DEAD cast reunions) is being postponed to July 2-4, 2021.

This will be the same event we have been planning, with the same quests and same side events.  As many know, July 3rd is “Return of the Living Dead Day”, and in 2021 it falls on a Saturday, so for the first time ever there will be a cast reunion and celebration of this landmark film on the holiday the fans have created.
All tickets at all levels and tours will transfer to this event date.  All Vendors Spaces will transfer too.  More details to follow.

PLUS a NEW BONUS Event!  On November 7, 2020 (original LDW date) we are presenting an all new event at the Monroeville Mall.  So if you still want to have an event this year, you need not change your travel plans.  This new event is FREE to all LDW 1985 ticket holders (all levels) and does not invalidate your tickets for July 2-4, 2021. Vendors that are booked for LDW-1985 will receive a free vendor space too!   It’s simply our gift to you for navigating through this with us.  Whether you attend the bonus event or not, your tickets remain valid for the postponement date in July.  This bonus event is…
LDW Presents: “Cover-Your-Face” Zombie Marketplace, a single day horror themed vendor market featuring a wide variety of vendors with horror merch, crafts, art, and food.  Besides the classic retail vendors, we will be featuring Celebrity Vendors (some of your favorite “of the Dead” actors) who will be selling their goods and autographed items.  Celebrities will be announced throughout the next week. This is a mixed outdoor and indoor event held at the mall front parking lot just across from the Doubletree Hotel.  Marketplace hours are 9:00 to 5:00.  And there is more…

LDW Presents: “Drive & Park” Movies At Dark, a drive-in theater styled double feature presentation in the Doubletree Hotel parking lot right after the market that night.  We can’t quite yet announce the films, but we are working on the rights to some great ones.  Expect celebrity introductions and other surprises!  There will be refreshments sold and an outdoor cash bar.  and that’s not all…

The all new Living Dead Museum: Monroeville will have it’s special preview opening that same weekend inside the mall!  All new exhibits from DAWN OF THE DEAD, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, EVIL DEAD 2, MINDHUNTER, and many more. Open both November 7 and 8, 2020.  And there is still another big surprise reveal on November 8, but we can’t announce that yet, stay tuned.

CURRENT VENDORS of LDW-1985: You may vend at the Nov 7th Zombie Marketplace for no extra cost.  Whether you choose to vend on that day or not, you still have a valid vendor space at the postponed LDW-1985 Event, now being held on July 2-4, 2021.  You may chose between standard indoor spaces or larger outdoor spaces.  Indoor spaces are limited so first come first serve on those.  You will receive an email with options.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS:  There is a new hotel group rate blocks available for the postponed July, 2021 dates.  If you have a reservation for the November 2020 dates, you need to decide if you want to keep them to attend the Marketplace and Movies, or make modifications or cancellations.  You will also need to book a new reservation for the July 2021 dates (LDW Group Block Code is LDW).  This hotel link direct link is http://group.doubletree.com/LDW

For those who cannot make the postponed new date in 2021, we will have information on that in another post and/or direct emails that will be sent to ticket holders and vendors.  This email will list all of your refund and/or rescheduling options.

COVID SAFETY for November Event:  We will be adhering to all safety guidelines as presented by the local government and also the CDC and other health experts.  We take this very seriously so please understand and follow our rules.  It is not an easy matter to plan this bonus event and to do it with everyone’s safety and health in mind and also to stay well within the guidelines for such events.  Face Coverings (masks) must be worn by all whether indoors or outdoors while on Mall Property within the confines of our leased market space.  There will be designated areas to remove mask to eat.  The same applies to the Doubletree lot when moving about to bar, food, etc..  Masks may only be removed when back at your family unit seating area or car.  There is a single indoor area as part of the marketplace, and there will be limitation of the number of people that can be inside at any one time.  The outdoor area is large and spaced out accordingly to allow for a larger rotation of people.  Vendors inside and out will be spaced safely apart.  We will have hand sanitizing stations through both inside and out.  If anyone cannot adhere to these rules, we ask that you skip this free bonus event.  Movie Viewing spaces whether in car or chairs will be properly socially distanced and we ask that you stay grouped within your family unit in each space.

NEW ATTENDEES: For Anyone who does not already hold a ticket for LDW-1985 we will be selling separate admission tickets to the Marketplace and Celebrity Area.  We will also be selling tickets to the drive-in style movies at night.  All tickets purchased for LDW-1985 made right up to November will still be OK to get free admission to the Marketplace and Drive-in Movies. Tickets will be available at the door and online at our website. http://www.livingdeadmuseum.com/lidewemoju92.html

NEW VENDORS: We will be selling 16′ by 16′ Outdoor Vendor spaces to new vendors just for this event.  Outdoor vendor spaces are $55.  You need to supply a tent and any tables and chairs you require.  Vendors details are at this link Living Dead Weekend: Monroeville Zombie Marketplace- Nov 7, 2020
CONCLUSION: We are so relieved that we can both move our big 1985 Themed Event to a safer time for all and also hit RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD Day with it!  We are so excited to also still be able to bring you a fun event on the November 2020 dates.  We will be announcing the celebrity guests for Nov 7th, 2020 in the next few days.  And the best part is that the extra event is completely free to our existing LDW 1985 ticket holders while still keep valid tickets to the new LDW 1985 postponed dates.  We hope to see many of you in November, but we understand that many cannot make that trip due to travel restrictions and such.  We will see all of you in July 2021!  Stay safe and stay healthy!
