This is the Past event page for the Living Dead Weekend Evans City 2017 which took place on October 20, 21, 22 in Evans City, The Strand Theatre in Zelienople and The Manor Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA.
The weekend included a Day of the Dead Reunion, and a Night of the Living Dead reunion, with Land of the Dead's Eugene Clark joining the guests.

THE LIVING DEAD WEEKEND EVENTS
There will be lots of events happening over the three days of the Living Dead Weekend. Our main area for guests and vendors is in Edco Park, but we will also be running the Living Dead Museum on Main Street, location tours, and movie screenings. our schedule will be online when we have more details, below are some of the events you can look forward to.
MOVIE LOCATION TOURS
Lawrence Devincentz is our movie location tour guide, Larry spends alot of time researching the fine details of these movies and their locations, so he can bring you an in depth tour, one of our favourite things on the tour is when Larry re-enacts scenes from the movie, for a 3d experience.
Location Tour tickets are being sold now. There's only a few spots left in out Boss VIP package for tours. Of course we also have the separate tour purchases available too.
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD BRAND NEW 4K RESTORATION MOVIE SCREENING
Gary Streiner worked very hard with Janus Films and the Manor Theater here in Pittsburgh to be able to have the brand new fully restored 4K Night of the Living Dead Premier Screening coincide with The Living Dead Weekend this year. So now we can all watch it together. The date is Friday, October 20th. @ 10:45 pm at the Manor theatre in downtown Pittsburgh.PA
Day of the Dead & Knightriders DOUBLE BILL MOVIE SCREENING
We have lined up this George A. Romero movie double feature for you at Living Dead Weekend, Oct 21st, 2017 8:30 PM. The Strand Theater is a beautiful restored single screen theater nearby the festival and is a wonderful place to see a film. The evening will start off with a 30 min Introduction and Q&A from cast members of both films! Entry is included with your Weekend Pass or Boss Pass, or tickets available at the door for $10.
BUILD A ZOMBIE SCARECROW
An interactive art exhibit to fill the park with fan-made zombies! Build and design a scarecrow ghoul to decorate and add ambience for Living Dead Weekend.
For only $5, we give you the core essentials and you add in your ideas and artistic vision to build a zombie scarecrow and plant it in the park. Build one or many, our goal is to fill the back yard of the park with 1000 unique zombies. For every zombie scarcrow that joins the horde, the park gets $5:00. As the horde grows so does the collection plate for the pool!
EDCO Park's swimming pool is in need of many repairs to keep the park open in future years. A huge fundraiser organized by the community of Evans City has taken on the task to raise $60,000.00 to accomplish it. This fundraiser is just one part of that overall project.
We invite all Night of the Living Dead fans and anyone who likes a little Halloween fun to take part in this fun and creative fundraiser. Come out and add to the horde!
BONUS: Another way to help the cause is to donate old clothes, dresses, sheets, hats, masks, wigs, coats, PJ's and art supplies...anything to help make the scarcrows. Donations are now being collected at EDCO Park.
Zombie Lab Escape Room
How about some Escape Room fun? The Evans City Community Library is hosting a Zombie Lab Themed Escape Room game on Saturday during LDW. It's only $5 per person and funds go to the library. The library hosts the NOTLD Historic Markers year round in their corner lot too. There are five 1-hour escape sessions, each beginning on the hour from 10AM to 4PM. Sign ups will begin soon on their website and also at their exhibit booth inside the festival vendor area in EDCO Park.
